If you use Internet Explorer 8 as a browser and you see oddly shaped thumbnail pictures on the pages that have the Piclens Slideshow viewer, go to “tools” in IE8 and make sure that “compatibility view” is checked. The pages should then view correctly.
The first Rosie website was conceived in the 90s and started by Steve Graham, AT2, VA-176 1972. Steve ran the site until 2002. Bob Dorais, who served aboard the Sister Ship Coral Sea and is the Webmaster for the Coral Sea CV-43 website, then stepped up to the plate with a replacement site (CV42.COM) to fill the void. I started this FDR site in Jan. 2009 as an offshoot of my USNAVYPHOTOS.COM website. Bob already had his hands full running several other websites at that point and after this site became established we agreed to merge the two sites and I agreed to do the work. As a result you now have the content from both sites right here. This site is accessible as CV42.com, CVA42.com and USSFDR.com as well.
If you get some enjoyment or good information from this site please say so in the Guestbook and if you are able to help out a bit PLEASE click the Donate Button to the right. We can certainly use any financial help you offer no matter how small.
