In reviewing your USS Roosevelt deployments section, I noted one deployment left out as short as it was. I was an ATN2 in VA-87 “Golden Warriors” stationed at Cecil Field. We deployed on the Roosevelt on October 18, 1969 and sailed out of Mayport, Florida on her. This cruise was not what we had bargained for. We had returned from our Vietnam Westpac deployment on the USS Ticonderoga CVA 14 earlier that week. I remember it vividly. My parents sent me this article which I found today Memorial Day and want to share it with you and your website. Also, have attached a flight line photo I took of the VA-87 “Golden Warriors” prior to the Roosevelt deployment. I hope you can use it, too. We never got a chance to take any photos on board since it was a very quick deployment. Tom E. Rostkowski ATN2, VA-87, 31 May 2010
