HAVE YOU CHECKED THE HOME PAGE FOR THE LATEST INFO?
I have managed to resurrect some of the Guest Books from the previous FDR Websites. There are some that are lost forever but this is the best there is at the moment. There is a lot of good stuff there.

SO
Please put your email address in your message so your shipmates can get back to you (if they can remember you).
There is software on board that makes it unreadable to the “bots” who collect that sort of stuff.
All entries must be approved before they will appear in the book. Any inappropriate entries, as well as those with invalid email addresses, will be deleted and will not appear. I check daily so don’t despair if your entry doesn’t appear immediately.
Due to a rash of automated spam messages we now use “captcha” authentication. Just enter the “captcha” code and then SUBMIT. Don’t worry about upper or lower case….either will work. If you have trouble reading it just click the little button to the right and it will “refresh”. Thanks!
Many shipmates have told me, via email, about having visited this site. Oddly many have not left entries here for their shipmates to see. THEY do wonder how you are and probably would love to hear from you. This is a great way get back in contact.
REMEMBER….THE ONLY WAY FOR YOUR SHIPMATES TO GET IN CONTACT WITH YOU IS HAVING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN YOUR MESSAGE
For YOUR protection – No home phone numbers or addresses please. Please save that for when you make email contact.

Hey shipmates. Went to the FDR reunion a few weeks ago and really had a blast. I wish I had discovered the reunion association many years ago. I being “one of the young guys” very highly recommend joining and participating, you will be glad you did. I was one of the last guys to leave Rosie and never really crossed my mind but I/we are the end of the line. I would like the see the reunions go on as long as possible. Look forward to hearing from you and will let you know all about the reunion. scd1957@live.com

My dad, Harold Reynolds served on the rosie from December 1953 and took her around the Cape to Bremerton Washington for modernization. Always talked highly of the ship and of his shipmates. Dad passed away last January, but I am in the process of going thru his old slides and will post whatever I find of the ship and crew.
I second that motion and want to thank my shipmates for all the support you’ve given to this site over the past year. The growth has been tremendous with a current average of between 400 and 600 page views per day.

Hello shipmates. I served 1958-1962 E-division IC gang. In 1958 cruise to med I started playing live program of “country pickin” and hill side grinnin’ as Uncle Silas from The Alleghany Mountains of Virginia. Bluegrass music was featured along with stars of the Grand Ole Opry using my own music and it was on the S.E.S. (Ships Entertainment System) dubbed as WFDR. Some say I played the first Hillbilly music on WFDR. I made many friends on the FDR with memories that will never be forgotten. After I left a modern style radio station was put in place closed circuit. Perhaps many of you will remember the names Clifton Forge, Covington, and Potts Creek (said as pottzz crick) and my ole chewin turbackey. If you wish to contact me my email is buckcva42@gmail.com (my grandson set this up for me so he will be my contact and will relay messages sent to me and will send messages back for me. By the way I still listen to the Grand Ole Opry.) God bless you all!
