I cried when my mother showed me this….at 5:59 is my father….He passed last year at Christmas…these men did so much for our country..I’m so very proud of them. faeriechild4ever (From You Tube)

I ordered and received the 1970 Med Cruise DVD. Thank You for making things like that available to old shipmates of the great FDR. It brought back many good memories of the 70 Med Cruise. You have done a great service to all shipmates of the Rosie. I got in contact with some old friends through the crews list.

Thanks again Vin M OE Div 1968 to 1970

This was my last cruise in the Navy prior to retirement, I was at first the night line Boss for VA15 all during ORI , Then transferred to ships company to AIMD as shop leader and NDI tech . My sea duty was up at the end of cruise and transferred off a month after arrival at May Port Fl.
I enjoyed the cruise even with the fact the ship wasn’t really ready or prepared for sea opps. But many things that was needed to be done got done and the cruse went well except our rough trip going over to the Med. That ten days of North Atlantic rough weather decided on what sailors were real sailors, My crew including Division Officer was below in Bunks puking for most the way. I am a Korean war Vet and have been in a couple Typhoons so it was a no brainer for me. I spent a couple days bailing water out of my shop and Mt old friend and E-8 and I shored up a caved in outer door to keep the waves out.
